will be held,
co-organized by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA) and
Western Caspian University. This notable event is aimed at strengthening connections
among sources of knowledge and fostering ideas, approaches, and visions for a sustainable
future.
The purpose of the conference is to discuss solutions to the most pressing challenges
affecting mountainous regions globally, as well as to bring together creative scholars,
ecologists, biologists, tourism experts, and other stakeholders interested in these issues.
The approved papers will be indexed by the Scopus (Elsevier) scientometric database.

The conference will cover four main topics, each consisting of various discussion
sessions.
1. Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment:
This session will explore a comprehensive assessment of biodiversity in mountainous
regions, emphasizing the importance of preserving these unique ecosystems Experts from
the United Nations Environment Programme, the Global Mountain Biodiversity
Assessment, and the Mountain Research Initiative will lead the discussions and share their
insights.
2. Global Ecological Problems:
Our environment is facing a range of challenges, many of which are worsening over time,
leading us toward a true ecological crisis. Therefore, raising awareness about the existence
of these issues, as well as exploring the measures that can be taken to mitigate their
negative impacts, is becoming increasingly important.
3. Mountain Cultures:
Mountain culture is a rich and diverse aspect of human history, shaped by the unique
landscapes and resources of mountainous regions. The traditions of mountain communities,
including their music, cuisine, festivals, and other cultural practices, provide a window into
their distinctive way of life.
4. Mountain Tourism and Economic Impacts:
Mountains are significant tourist destinations worldwide, attracting visitors with their
scenic beauty, sports attractions, and rich cultural heritage Tourism serves as a source of
income and economic opportunities for remote rural mountain communities. Additionally,
it can contribute to the revitalization of local traditions and food systems.
